Guwahati: The East Guwahati Police District conducted a significant anti-drug operation in the Khanapara area, targeting criminal activity at the local Golpark and the parking grounds near the Veterinary College. Authorities apprehended four individuals accused of peddling narcotics during the sweep.
Alongside the arrests, officers located 11 people suffering from substance addiction. These individuals were transported to a rehabilitation center to receive professional treatment and counseling services.
Police officials confirmed that the operation aligns with broader initiatives to dismantle narcotics trafficking within the city. "The operation was part of the ongoing efforts of Guwahati Police to curb drug trafficking and substance abuse in the city," officials stated.
