Guwahati Police Apprehend Two Suspected Burglars and Recover Stolen Gold

Guwahati: Guwahati police arrested two men suspected of carrying out a series of burglaries across the city. The Emergency and Guided Patrol Division from the Basistha Police Station led the operation, which focused on a recent break-in at Sanjogi Byelane in Sixmile.

The suspects were identified as 22-year-old Md. Sahjahan Ali from Sipajhar and 31-year-old Mafijul Hoque from Gauripur. During the arrest, officers recovered a LAVA 5G mobile phone, two Realme Android handsets, two gold chains with lockets, a gold ring, and five pairs of gold earrings.

Under interrogation, both men confessed to their involvement in the Sixmile burglary. They also admitted to committing several other thefts throughout the city. Authorities have initiated formal legal proceedings against the pair, and investigators are working to determine if they are responsible for additional unsolved property crimes in the region.
