Kohima: The GPRN/NNC (AB) officially declared its full support for N. Kitovi Zhimomi during a consultative meeting held on May 18. The organization stated it remains committed to his leadership as the working convenor of the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) until a permanent and honorable peace solution is finalized.
Led by president S. S. Pongkhu Naga, the group described its mission as people oriented. During the gathering, Pongkhu highlighted his organization's previous involvement in 17 rounds of talks facilitated by the FNR, which sought to bring unity among various factions. He expressed frustration that these reconciliation efforts failed to produce tangible results, leaving the path toward a political settlement in a state of uncertainty.
The group emphasized that the Indian government continues its formal peace negotiations with the Working Committee of NNPGs. These discussions remain focused on the Agreed Position signed in November 2017. Maintaining that Naga history must be preserved, the leadership insisted that any future political agreement must be rooted in this established framework.
The GPRN/NNC (AB) concluded by calling on the Naga people to set aside their differences. The organization expressed strong confidence in Zhimomi and urged for collective solidarity to ensure the future aspirations of the Naga community are secured.
