Guwahati: Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi has condemned the recent violent crimes in Nalbari, which resulted in the death of Madhurjya Barman and the severe injury of 17-year-old Mridumudra Deka. Expressing his grief, Gogoi stated that the incident has deeply affected people across the state of Assam.

Gogoi offered his condolences to the family of Barman and wished for the recovery of the teenage victim, who is currently undergoing medical treatment. He emphasized that this tragedy must serve as a catalyst for society to act decisively against such violence.

The leader called for a more proactive environment where women can live without the fear of harassment or abuse. He encouraged young women to remain assertive and stressed that any form of misconduct should be met with immediate legal intervention.

According to Gogoi, safeguarding women is a collective responsibility. He urged citizens to foster a culture of vigilance and accountability to ensure that the dignity and security of women are protected throughout the region.
