Guwahati: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Gaurav Gogoi has condemned the recent murder of Madhurjya Barman and the violent attack on a minor girl in Nalbari. He described the tragedy as a wake-up call for the entire state and emphasized that the safety of women and girls requires a collective effort beyond just law enforcement.
Gogoi expressed his condolences to the family of Madhurjya Barman while wishing a full recovery for the injured girl, who is currently receiving medical treatment. He encouraged victims of abuse, harassment, or threats to seek legal justice immediately without fear.
The Congress leader called on the public to remain proactive and alert. He stated that creating a secure environment for women is a responsibility shared by every citizen, urging society to learn from this incident and foster a more vigilant community.
