Guwahati: Garima Saikia Garg visited Zubeen Kshetra in Sonapur on Saturday to observe Bishnu Rabha Divas. The event honored the legacy of cultural icon and freedom fighter Bishnu Prasad Rabha, a figure who deeply inspired the late singer Zubeen Garg. During the commemoration, which featured music and recitations, Garg reflected on her husband's enduring commitment to the values Rabha championed.

Reflecting on Zubeen's connection to the cultural icon, Garg stated, "If Zubeen had been here, he would have celebrated Kalaguru in any way or anywhere in the state. He was always inspired by Kalaguru." She emphasized that their family remains dedicated to maintaining those specific ideologies and preserving his cultural contributions.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also paid tribute to Rabha throughout the day, labeling him a pillar of Assamese society. In a post on X, the Chief Minister noted that Rabha’s influence spanned well beyond the arts, impacting numerous social issues. As part of the observances, the Chief Minister presented state awards to various prominent figures for their service.

Garg also addressed the status of the legal proceedings regarding her husband's death. She expressed confidence in the investigative work performed by the Special Investigation Team, which has already filed a charge sheet. With the Advocate General opposing recent bail applications for the accused, Garg remains hopeful that the court will reach a definitive conclusion soon.
