Guwahati: Former Union Minister and four-time Member of Parliament Rajen Gohain has officially resigned from the Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP), stepping down from his primary membership and all associated responsibilities. In a formal letter submitted to AJP President Lurinjyoti Gogoi on Monday, the 75-year-old veteran leader cited personal reasons for his departure, effective immediately.

Gohain took the opportunity to express his gratitude toward the party leadership, workers, and supporters for the cooperation extended to him during his time with the organization. While the politician indicated an intention to focus on his personal life moving forward, his exit has naturally triggered widespread speculation regarding his future political trajectory.
