Itanagar: Monsoon rains are wrecking Arunachal Pradesh. Floods and landslides now impact over 94,200 people across 26 districts. The State Emergency Operation Centre reports that 333 villages are struggling under the deluge. Upper Siang remains the hardest hit area.

The state has seen four deaths so far. One victim died in an Anjaw district landslide, while three others perished in a flash flood in Keyi Panyor. Two women are still missing and twenty-one people sustained injuries. Rescuers from the NDRF, SDRF, Army, and Air Force are on the ground. Teams are working through the mud to reach isolated communities.

The damage is widespread. Water has wiped out 334 hectares of crops and torn through 1,010 hectares of forest. Infrastructure is in shambles. Power lines are down and over 130 roads are blocked. Officials confirm that "two relief camps remain operational in Keyi Panyor district, where 252 displaced people are currently taking shelter."

The India Meteorological Department expects no relief soon. Forecasters warn of more heavy rain and lightning strikes. Residents in Lohit, Changlang, and Tirap must brace for further impact as the weather system tracks across the region.
