Itanagar: An eight-member federal team hit the ground in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday. The delegation arrived to survey areas destroyed by recent floods. Nishtha Tiwari, a Joint Secretary at the Union Home Ministry, led the group. They traveled by road across Lower Siang after bad weather grounded their flights.

The disaster began on June 24. A cloudburst sparked flash floods and landslides in Keyi Panyor district. Three people died. Two others remain missing. The water and mud battered the NEEPCO colony, public infrastructure, and homes across the region.

Local lawmakers including Tojir Kadu and Ninong Ering joined the federal officials during the inspection. They spoke with locals to gauge the scale of the ruin. Tiwari noted the team is currently pulling together data from the hardest-hit zones. "The extent of the damage was significant," Tiwari told reporters.

The government promised to send help. Officials continue to collect reports to finalize their assessment. They aim to provide all possible assistance to the survivors.
