Guwahati: A father and son face serious allegations of assault and unlawful confinement in Assam's Nagaon district. The incident took place in the Itapara area of Roumari, where Abul Kalam and his son, Asikul Islam, reportedly targeted a couple named Khairul Islam and Eliza Begum.

Reports indicate the violence erupted due to a disagreement over a loan. The couple allegedly borrowed money from the suspects at a high interest rate, leading to the confrontation when repayment became an issue. According to the allegations, the accused "attacked Khairul Islam and his wife Eliza Begum" before forcing them to travel to their home.

Once at the residence of the accused, the couple was held against their will for a period of time. The situation has caused significant concern among neighbors in the community, who claim the suspects were aggressively demanding repayment with excessive interest charges.
