Family alleges murder after newlywed found dead in Assam

Guwahati: A newly married woman has been found dead under suspicious circumstances in Meserbhita village, located in the Goalpara district of Assam. The victim, identified as Samina Khatun of Nidanpur village, had been married to Rakibul Hussain for approximately three months before her death was reported on Wednesday, June 3.

They claim the death was a premeditated act, noting that the husband and his relatives fled the scene immediately after informing them of the tragedy.

Local authorities are currently investigating the incident to determine the cause of death. Officials stated that the investigation remains ongoing and they are waiting for medical confirmation. An officer noted, "the exact cause of death would be determined only after the post-mortem examination report is received and the investigation is completed."

The victim's family is demanding the immediate arrest and prosecution of all individuals involved in the case. Police continue to examine all potential leads as they work to uncover the events that led to the woman's death.
