Kohima: The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation is turning up the heat. They pushed their public rally back to July 10 and ordered a dawn-to-dusk shutdown across six districts. The group wants the government to move faster on the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority. This deal aims to give more power to the eastern regions, which locals say have been ignored for far too long.

Leadership met in Tuensang to map out the plan. They expect all six eastern districts to join the protest. People in Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire, Noklak, Shamator, and Longleng must prepare for the work stoppage. Essential services will keep running, but expect empty streets and closed shops throughout the day.

The group demands officials follow the February 5 agreement. They insisted the deal must be carried out "in letter and spirit" to ensure justice and growth. Before the July 10 protests, leaders will gather in Dimapur on July 7. They plan to sign an undertaking to lock in their commitment to the framework. Local administrations will release traffic advisories soon to manage the fallout.
