Eastern Army Commander Reviews Nagaland Security and Ceasefire Status

Kohima: Lieutenant General V.M.B. Krishnan, the Eastern Army Commander, touched down in Nagaland on Thursday to audit military readiness. He examined the security situation alongside the General Officer Commanding of Spear Corps. They visited the Inspector General Assam Rifles North headquarters for a series of high-level briefings.

The military brass scrutinized the current operational environment. They analyzed security shifts and the formation's ability to handle sudden threats. Krishnan spoke to troops on the ground about their work. He praised their dedication to local stability.

"The deliberations highlighted the importance of sustained cooperation among various security agencies, enhanced coordination and collaborative efforts to ensure lasting peace, security and stability in the region," said defense spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Rawat. Krishnan handed out Commendation Cards to personnel for their professional performance.

The commander also sat down with the chairman of the Ceasefire Monitoring Group. They went over the mechanics of the existing ceasefire. Both sides pledged to keep talking to keep the peace. The meeting served to sharpen how different agencies work together in the field.
