Driver Electrocuted After Tipper Hits Power Line in Hailakandi

Guwahati: Didar Hussain Sheikh, 35, died after an electric shock at a petrol pump in the Saidband area near Hailakandi town. The driver brought his tipper to the station for fuel. He raised the truck's hydraulic trailer after filling the tank. It hit an overhead electricity wire. Didar tried to jump from the cab. He touched the live line and suffered fatal injuries.

Witnesses rushed him to Algapur Hospital. Doctors later moved him to SK Roy Civil Hospital in Hailakandi. He died there. Aftab Uddin, an Algapur-Kanchanpur Zila Parishad member, blamed the station and the utility company. He claimed that "exposed electrical wiring instead of properly insulated cables" may have caused the tragedy. The victim leaves behind a wife, a son, and a daughter.

Local police took the body for a post-mortem. They have started an investigation into the incident. The local community remains in shock.
