Itanagar: Dirang MLA Phurpa Tsering handed over his salary from the last seven months to help families battered by floods and landslides. The total donation hits Rs 7.5 lakh. Keyi Panyor district remains the hardest hit area after weeks of relentless rain triggered flash floods.

Tsering, who also serves as an advisor to the PWD minister, wants others to follow his lead. He called on local leaders and residents in his home constituency to pull together for the relief effort. The state is hurting.

"The state was passing through a difficult period and appealed for collective efforts to assist those affected by the disaster," Tsering said. He emphasized that the situation requires immediate solidarity to help people get back on their feet during ongoing rehabilitation work.
