Kohima: Dimapur district administration scrapped all African Swine Fever restrictions in Signal Angami Village on July 31. The order follows a clean report from the Chief Veterinary Officer confirming no fresh infections. The site is clear.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tinojongshi Chang signed the order withdrawing the mandate that had been in place since May 20. The decision clears the way for normal piggery operations. Farmers can move, sell, and slaughter pigs once again.
Restrictions are gone. The district is back to business.
Officials still demand caution. The order advises farmers to stick to standard biosecurity measures and follow all official advisories from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services. The Chief Veterinary Officer remains on alert, tasked to keep up routine surveillance and report any suspected ASF cases. As the administration noted, the move is "based on a report submitted by the Chief Veterinary Officer, Dimapur."
