Kohima: The Dimapur District Lotha Gaon Bura Union recently celebrated its 20th Rising Day, gathering community leaders and members to mark two decades of service. The event recognized the significant contributions of Gaon Buras to grassroots administration, local dispute resolution, and overall community development.
Chief guest G.K. Rengma praised the union for reaching this milestone and urged its members to maintain their commitment to unity and dedicated public service. During the ceremony, Lotha Hoho Dimapur chairman Thungchaithung Murry and Dr. Polaud Lotha lauded the union for its endurance. They emphasized the vital role these leaders play in promoting social harmony and preserving the cultural values of the Lotha community.
Attendees observed a minute of silence to honor departed members, acknowledging their past service and lasting influence on the organization. Reflecting on the union's mission, speakers encouraged members to continue working toward the welfare and progress of society. Addressing the gathering, G.K. Rengma stated, "I acknowledge the role of Gaon Buras in grassroots administration, dispute resolution, and community development."
The program featured an invocation by Rev. Dr. Yanbemo Lotha, senior pastor of the Dimapur Lotha Baptist Church, and was chaired by general secretary Yanbothung Kikon. Following the formal presentations, Vice President Nyimbemo Mozhü offered a vote of thanks, and the event concluded with a benediction by Eramo Phyobhio Odyuo and a communal luncheon.
