Guwahati: Heavy rains in the Karbi Hills sent the Diju River over its banks again. The river acts as the border between the Nagaon and Karbi Anglong districts. This is the second major flood in two weeks. It caught families still struggling from the previous deluge.

Water poured into Shiyalekhaiti, Kalapani, and other spots under the Amoni Revenue Circle in Nagaon. The rising water swallowed residential homes and farmland alike. Residents face recurring displacement. Livelihoods are at risk.

Farmers fear huge crop losses as fields sit underwater. Daily life has ground to a halt across the affected region. Thousands of people now deal with limited access to essential services. The recurring disaster has left communities on edge.

Anxiety runs high in villages along the river. One resident noted, "the situation could deteriorate further if rainfall continues over the coming days." Locals keep a close watch on the rising water, praying for the rain to stop.
