Guwahati: A Dibrugarh court sentenced Jugen Garh to 30 years of rigorous imprisonment for child sexual abuse. The ruling marks the end of proceedings for POCSO Case 04/2020. This case originated from Tingkhong Police Station Case 246/2019.
The Special POCSO Judge convicted Garh under Section 6 of the POCSO Act. The court ordered him to pay a 10,000 rupee fine. If he fails to pay, he will serve an additional six months of simple imprisonment. Justice was swift.
Public Prosecutor Anju Devi Sonar handled the case for the state. Sub-Inspector Rajib Engti managed the investigation that led to the conviction. Officials confirmed the outcome, noting that the sentencing serves as a final chapter for this legal matter.
