Delhi Police Dismantle ISI-Linked Terror and Crime Syndicate

Shillong: The Delhi Police have dismantled a terror and organized crime network operating in the national capital. Authorities arrested seven suspects accused of smuggling weapons and narcotics into the Delhi-NCR region under the direction of handlers based in Pakistan.

Investigators linked the group to Pakistan-based operatives Shahzad Bhatti and Ajmal Gujjar. According to police, the network received shipments of arms and drugs dropped by drones in Punjab before transporting them to local distributors. A police official stated, "The accused were allegedly working for Pakistan-based operative Shahzad Bhatti and his associate, Ajmal Gujjar."

The operation led to the seizure of five pistols, 41 live cartridges, seven mobile phones, and a sports utility vehicle. Police began the crackdown after receiving intelligence in May regarding planned criminal activities. A subsequent investigation revealed that the syndicate used social media to recruit young people by promising quick money and promoting a criminal lifestyle.

Surveillance efforts uncovered that members had conducted reconnaissance at various sites in Delhi and Ghaziabad. Many of those arrested possess prior criminal histories, with past charges ranging from robbery and attempted murder to violations of the Arms Act and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
