Agartala: CPIM Tripura State Secretary Jitendra Chaudhury has launched a sharp critique against the BJP-led state government regarding its management of insurgent groups and public administrative policies. Speaking at a press conference in Agartala on Friday, Chaudhury argued that the administration has failed to provide permanent solutions for groups linked to the NLFT and ATTF despite repeated rounds of negotiation and promises of rehabilitation.

Chaudhury stated that the ongoing failure to address these demands has led to frequent protests and blockades that disrupt the lives of ordinary citizens. He emphasized that the government must adopt a definitive stance to prevent public infrastructure from being compromised by unresolved issues, noting, "The administration must take a clear and final stand on commitments made to such groups and ensure that ordinary citizens do not bear the burden of unresolved issues."

The CPIM leader also addressed the fallout from a recent Supreme Court ruling that makes the Teacher Eligibility Test mandatory for all educators. He argued that teachers hired before this requirement was implemented should not be penalized by retroactive policy changes. Given the high number of school vacancies across Tripura, he urged the state to pursue legal avenues, such as filing a review petition, to protect these professionals.

Beyond these concerns, Chaudhury questioned the political consistency of TIPRA Motha and its founder, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma. He specifically challenged their record on tribal welfare and the status of the 125th Constitutional Amendment Bill. Furthermore, he raised alarms regarding administrative transparency, pointing to the frequent reappointment of retired officials to key government roles while qualified serving officers remain underutilized.
