Guwahati: Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala did not appear before the Crime Branch on Saturday, May 23. Authorities had summoned him as part of an investigation into a case filed against fellow party member Pawan Khera.
The legal dispute stems from allegations regarding Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, the wife of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Khera previously faced accusations of making false claims about her. During his own questioning by the Crime Branch, Khera reportedly mentioned Surjewala in connection with the controversy. The investigation remains ongoing as officials continue to probe the matter.
