Imphal: A week-long campaign in Manipur's Churachandpur district concluded on Monday, successfully providing government services to nearly 2,000 residents. The initiative, known as the Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan, operated across 89 villages with a goal of saturating flagship welfare schemes and strengthening local outreach.
Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar S reported that 1,994 people utilized services during the event, which ran from May 18 to May 24. Key outcomes included the resolution of 978 MGNREGS issues, the issuance of 903 caste and tribe certificates, and the processing of 476 Aadhaar-related requests. Residents also received support for various national programs, including the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Ayushman Bharat cards, and multiple pension and insurance schemes.
The campaign featured health camps, public hearings, and dedicated awareness efforts like wall paintings and poster displays. Officials utilized these touchpoints to facilitate documentation and register beneficiaries for welfare programs. The Deputy Commissioner credited the success to effective cooperation between local block administrations and various government departments.
Designed by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Hills, the nationwide program focused on reaching citizens in remote areas. Local leadership emphasized that the effort aligns with the broader goal of fostering inclusive governance and ensuring the effective delivery of public services at the grassroots level.
