Imphal: A coalition of eight Baptist associations in the Chandel-Tengnoupal district has issued an urgent appeal for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages caught in the current conflict. The group, known as the Chandel-Tengnoupal District Baptist Associations’ Fellowship, represents the Aimol, Anal Naga, Chothe, Lamkang Naga, Maring Naga, Monsang Naga, Moyon Naga, and Tarao Baptist associations.

The organization stated that the ongoing detention of captives has inflicted severe trauma and daily agony upon families, villagers, and church members. They described the situation as one of constant fear and uncertainty for the loved ones left waiting at home.

In their statement, the fellowship urged both sides of the conflict to act with humanity and compassion. They encouraged the parties to replace violence with dialogue and reconciliation. By calling for the release of hostages in the name of their faith, the group hopes to renounce hatred and foster a more harmonious future based on a shared respect for human life.
