Aizawl: The central government pledged support to Mizoram for a new MSME technology centre. This facility aims to kickstart industrial growth and expand job skills across the state. The deal followed a Thursday meeting in New Delhi between Mizoram Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar and Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.
Manjhi confirmed his ministry will back the project once state officials finish the paperwork. Hmar pushed the idea hard. He noted that most local businesses fit the MSME bracket and hire many young workers. "Mizoram has one of the country's highest proportions of working-age youth, making it well-positioned for greater investment in MSME-led development," Hmar said.
The state already folded several MSME programs into its local Bana Kaih handholding scheme. Manjhi signaled his approval of these local development efforts during their talk.
Hmar used the trip to secure progress on other fronts. He met with Tourism Ministry officials, including Additional Secretary Suman Billa and ITDC chairperson Mugdha Sinha, to look at ways to keep visitors in the state longer. He also checked in with the Ministry of Minority Affairs and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Talks centered on fixing sports infrastructure and speeding up stalled projects. Both sides agreed to take immediate action on all pending work.
