Guwahati: A federal team reached the flooded Keyi Panyor district on July 8. They came to count the cost of last month's disaster. Ministry of Home Affairs Joint Secretary Nishtha Tiwari led the delegation. Arunachal Pradesh Disaster Management Secretary Dani Salu joined the tour.

The group traveled by road from Itanagar. They inspected roads ripped apart by landslides. They walked through the wreckage at Posa NEEPCO Colony and Possa village. The destruction remains massive. Houses and government buildings were hit hard by the June 24 cloudburst.

Three people died in the chaos. Two others remain missing. The disaster left the area struggling to rebuild.

The team met with Deputy Commissioner Shweta Nagarkoti and Superintendent of Police Angad Mehta. They discussed the total loss to public infrastructure and local farms. Nagarkoti explained the immediate needs for recovery. The team will report their findings to the Home Ministry. This report decides the budget for reconstruction.

State officials confirmed the purpose of the trip. The assessment will form the basis of the final report to the ministry, "which will decide the quantum of additional central financial assistance to be provided to Arunachal Pradesh for post-disaster reconstruction and recovery efforts."
