Guwahati: New CCTV footage captures Himashree Boro boarding a train shortly before her death in Andhra Pradesh. The clip shows Boro walking along a platform as an unidentified man approaches her. She boards the train as it departs. The man follows her but eventually steps back onto the platform.
Boro, a resident of Chapaidong near Bonda in Guwahati, travelled to Visakhapatnam on September 30 for a dance program. She started her return trip to Guwahati on the Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Express. She travelled alone. Another video surfaced that Boro reportedly filmed during her journey and sent to a friend. She stands in a train aisle surrounded by men in the footage. Investigators are still working to identify these individuals.
The family stayed in touch with Boro until their final call at 1:30 pm on October 6. Her phone went dead shortly after. The family later searched coach S2 and found two bags and documents belonging to her. They claim other men in the coach made obscene gestures toward her. The family also stated she kept in frequent contact with a woman named Jyoti Choudhury during the trip. Family members said, "The allegations are yet to be independently established."
Railway police found Boro dead near the tracks at Tekkalipuram in Srikakulam district on Wednesday. Her family received word of the discovery after losing contact with her. Authorities previously alerted the Railway Protection Force and the Panikhaiti police outpost regarding her disappearance. Investigators are now analyzing all collected video footage to determine how she left the train and exactly how she died.
