Guwahati: Railway Protection Force officers and Assam Railway Police intercepted a massive haul of contraband. They pulled 115 sacks of suspected Burmese areca nuts from the Kanyakumari to Tinsukia Vivek Express. The operation took place at the New Bongaigaon Railway Junction as the train moved toward Tinsukia.
Authorities have yet to make any arrests. The investigation remains active and officials are still gathering facts. "The operation was continuing and further details were awaited," police stated regarding the status of the ongoing case.
