Police seize 42kg of cannabis at New Bongaigaon station

Guwahati: Railway Police grabbed 42.41 kg of suspected cannabis at the New Bongaigaon railway station in Assam. The bust went down inside an AC cabin on the down-bound Tripura Sundari Express. Officers swarmed the train under the command of New Bongaigaon Railway Police officer Sanjib Choudhury.

Police detained a passenger named Imran Sheikh during the search. Officials stated, "The cannabis was allegedly being transported from Agartala railway station in Tripura to Bengaluru."

Sheikh remains in custody. Investigators are now working to track the source of the drugs and hunt down other suspects linked to the trafficking operation.
