Guwahati: Assam Railway Police and the Railway Protection Force snagged ten Bangladeshi nationals at the New Bongaigaon Railway Station. They acted on sharp intelligence inputs. The detained group included six men, four women, and four children. They were riding the Guwahati-Jammu Tawi Express.
Authorities believe the group slipped into Assam via the Dawki border in Meghalaya. They planned to fan out across the country by rail. Investigators pinned the group’s origin to Khulna, Bangladesh. They allegedly relied on a trafficking network to reach the station. Ranju Mia is the suspected lead for this crew.
The Railway Police are sweating the detainees for answers right now. Officials want to know how the group crossed the international border and who helped them cross. They are also hunting for the broker network behind the movement. Regarding the investigation, police sources stated, "Investigators are probing how the group entered Assam through the international border, who allegedly assisted them in entering the state and what their intended destination was."
