Guwahati: Cartoonist Nituparna Rajbongshi is trading sketches for cash. He wants to help kids in Sivasagar and Charaideo recover from recent, brutal floods. He teamed up with the Kahini Children’s Library, part of the group Fireflies, to launch the drive. The project aims to mend the educational and emotional wreckage left behind by the rising waters.
Donors pay for a custom caricature. Every cent goes to mental health support and schooling for these children. Fireflies founder Kuldeep Das and Rajbongshi made their policy clear regarding the donations. "We will accept public contributions strictly in exchange for a custom cartoon caricature. One hundred percent of these funds will be spent directly on the long-term mental health, educational needs, and holistic development of flood-affected children," they stated.
Rajbongshi previously ran a similar project with Shubham in Barpeta during the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, he turns his pen toward the flood zones. People wanting to help should send a high-resolution photo and donation details to 7896473598 or 7002085046. They also accept submissions at [email protected]. Kuldeep Das is handling all media inquiries at the same phone numbers. This is a long-term fight to rebuild lives.
