Guwahati: Boko-Chaygaon MLA Raju Mesh laid the foundation stones for five new road development projects on June 10. The initiatives represent an investment of nearly Rs 6.19 crore and are funded through the State-Owned Priority Development Fund. These projects aim to address significant connectivity challenges in the constituency that have hindered residents for years.
The infrastructure plan includes a Rs 75 lakh road from Samaria Satra to Ram Saraswati Academy and a Rs 77.71 lakh route from Cholapathar to the Samaria Old Bus Stand. Other projects involve a Rs 2.43 crore link between Daspara Adarsha Primary School and No. 2 Makeli Primary School, a Rs 90.9 lakh road connecting Trilochan ME School to the PWD road, and a Rs 1.32 crore project stretching from Dhekiajuli Power House to Nepali Para.
Addressing attendees at the event, Mesh emphasized that the community would soon see the results of having active representation in the Assembly. He stated, "The people of Boko-Chaygaon would now witness the benefits of having dedicated representation in the Assembly and assured that development activities would be carried out in a transparent and time-bound manner." He also credited Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for fostering a vision of inclusive growth across the state.
Beyond the new road projects, Mesh inspected erosion damage along the Khorkhori River in Trilochan village to discuss potential solutions with locals. The MLA noted that these developments follow four previously inaugurated road projects. Looking ahead, he confirmed that planning is underway for a Rs 200 crore special development package promised by the Chief Minister, with more infrastructure upgrades expected in the coming months.
