Kohima: BJP Nagaland launched the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan across the state on Thursday. The campaign honors Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday. It runs from September 17 to October 17, 2026. Party workers will mark the event as Seva Pakhwada. Blood donation camps opened in Dimapur, Kohima, and Mokokchung. The party aims to strengthen grassroots ties through the mantra Jan Seva Hi Prabhu Seva.
Er Kropol Vitsu, Advisor for Prisons and Printing and Stationery, addressed the media in Kohima. He noted that October 7, 2026, marks 25 years of Modi serving as a constitutional head. This covers his time as Gujarat Chief Minister from 2001 to 2014 and his premiership since 2014. Vitsu credited Modi with lifting 25 crore people out of poverty. He cited free rations for 80 crore people, social security for 100 crore, and over 200 crore Covid vaccines administered. The Ayushman Bharat scheme provided free medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh for 55 crore citizens.
Vitsu also highlighted infrastructure and economic gains. He noted 4 crore permanent houses for the poor and the rise of space startups from one to over 400 since 2014. The official praised railway modernization and the Vande Bharat trains. He emphasized the government's stance against terrorism. The event in Kohima featured district president Khrielie Usou, Thomas Magh, and Tafi Snock. Programmes reached all 14 organisational districts and 60 Mandals. Senior leaders, including Deputy CM Y Patton and Minister Temjen Imna Along, joined the effort.
Vitsu urged public participation in building a developed India. He stated, “Let us therefore make a personal commitment: “My country’s progress is my responsibility.” The campaign focuses on the vision of Viksit Bharat through collective effort.
