Guwahati: Shrinkhal Chaliha, leader of the Bir Lachit Sena, is ignoring Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. He vowed to keep gathering supplies for flood-hit residents in Sivasagar. The Chief Minister previously told groups to stop independent collection of aid materials. Chaliha refuses to comply.

Devastating floods now swamp large parts of Assam. Thousands desperately need food, medicine, drinking water, and other basics. Chaliha accused the local government of failing the people during this disaster. He specifically targeted the Deputy Commissioner for ignoring the mounting struggle. He said, "Stop playing around and making fun at a time of crisis. The government should act responsibly."

The group intends to push forward with their own distribution network. Chaliha insists his team cannot abandon the residents during their hardship. The standoff continues as the state struggles to manage the fallout of the ongoing flood disaster.
