Guwahati: Assam will drop its new state budget this week. Finance Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah presents the document on July 10. The budget serves as a five-year roadmap for the state's economic future. It directly mirrors the government's election manifesto commitments.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma spoke after a cabinet meeting. He detailed the state's path forward. "The budget will reflect the five-year plan, based on our election manifesto. It will be our government's economic vision for the next five years," the chief minister said.

Key sectors include agriculture and industrial growth. The government plans to boost MSMEs and self-help groups. Employment and renewable energy remain top priorities for the administration. The upcoming budget session for the Assam Legislative Assembly starts on Monday.

Sarma shrugged off moves by opposition parties to build a united front. He prefers governance over political squabbles. The ruling alliance holds 102 seats. Development work takes center stage for at least two years. Sarma claimed the BJP holds a firm grip on the state. He noted, "BJP cannot be shaken in Assam for the next 25 years, such strong foundations have been laid."
