Guwahati: The Assam government shook up its medical leadership today. Officials ordered an immediate personnel swap at two major state institutions. Dr. Babul Kumar Bezbaruah is the new boss at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. He takes over as Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent.
Dr. Achyut Chandra Baishya is moving out. He led the Gauhati facility until now. State authorities reassigned him to Nalbari Medical College and Hospital. He will also serve as that institution's Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent until further notice.
The Medical Education and Research Department confirmed these changes via official order. The move happens in the interest of public service. Bezbaruah leaves his post at Nalbari to take the Gauhati role. Officials stated the appointments take effect "with immediate effect and until further orders." Both doctors will hold their new responsibilities indefinitely.
