Guwahati: Authorities in Guwahati launched an investigation on June 15 following the discovery of a body at a residence in Hatigaon. The deceased was identified as Biswajit Buragohain, a native of the Sivasagar district who worked as an assistant to an Assam Civil Service officer at the Assam Secretariat.
Police arrived at the property, located at House No. 3, Suruj Path, after being alerted to the scene. Preliminary assessments suggest that Buragohain may have died approximately two days before the body was found by investigators.
The body has been transported to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital to undergo a post-mortem examination. Officials are currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding his death, noting that "further details are awaited pending the outcome of the investigation and autopsy report."
