Kohima: Assam Rifles teams fanned out across Nagaland this week to handle a string of security, medical, and community crises. Troops worked from Dimapur to remote village councils to bolster local stability.
In Dimapur, 31 families gathered for a session under the Rubaru initiative. Dr. Vandini Setia led the talk on managing anger. She spoke on the theme "Mera Wajood, Suno Meri Awaaz," specifically addressing the topic of "Managing Anger Without Guilt." The monthly program aims to keep family bonds strong for personnel.
A massive landslide struck Forest Ward in Kiphire on August 3. Soldiers linked up with village guards and residents to clear the debris. The team reopened the blocked road and saved houses from further damage. Neighbors thanked the unit for their fast work.
Medical crews at the Unit Hospital in Noklak acted quickly on August 2. A local teacher arrived suffering from chest pain, dizziness, and heavy vomiting. Doctors ran clinical exams and stabilized his condition immediately. His family credited the unit for the life-saving treatment.
Security remains a priority before Independence Day. The force met with 12 representatives from the Choklangan Village Council on August 3. Attendees included the GB, council members, and the chairman. They discussed regional threats and urged locals to report suspicious activity to maintain order.
