Guwahati: The Assam government has reinducted Dr. Mizanur Rahman, a retired state award-winning educator, for a one-year service extension. This decision follows his official retirement from his role as headmaster of Kaldoba High School in the Dhubri district on April 30, 2026.
Authorities implemented this move under a special policy designed to retain highly skilled teachers who have previously received state-level honors. The provision allows Dr. Rahman to serve at any school within his home district during this extended tenure. Officials state the program aims to bolster academic mentorship and provide institutional leadership guidance to the next generation of educators.
Dr. Rahman earned state recognition for his teaching excellence and institutional leadership in 2017. That same year, he received national acclaim for his dedication to fostering accountability and transparency within the school system. Local community members and school officials have lauded the appointment as a significant benefit for grassroots education.
Regarding the opportunity to continue his work, Dr. Rahman noted that teaching remained a lifelong commitment for him and he looked forward to returning to the classroom. The initiative seeks to ensure that experienced professionals continue to support young teachers as they navigate their careers.
