Guwahati: Kunki Chowdhury, a prominent young leader in Assam politics, has completed her postgraduate studies at the Institute of Education at University College London. The 27-year-old nominee, who represented the Assam Jatiya Parishad in the 2026 Assembly elections, credited her time at the university with deepening her perspective on leadership and personal development.
During the graduation ceremony, Chowdhury reflected on the speech given by Dean and Director Li Wei. The address encouraged new graduates to adopt a mindset of innovation and critical thinking to better serve their communities. This academic milestone follows her earlier business administration studies at NMIMS in Mumbai.
Before moving into the political arena, Chowdhury gained professional experience working with her family's education-focused non-profit organization in Assam. Her recent election campaign for the Guwahati Central constituency focused on pressing local concerns, such as youth unemployment, flood management, and women's safety. Although she was unsuccessful in her bid against BJP candidate Vijay Kumar Gupta, her commitment to civic issues remains a central part of her public profile.
