Assam Police Seize Opium Worth Rs 1 Crore in Karbi Anglong

Guwahati: Assam police seized 13.482 kilograms of opium valued at approximately Rs 1 crore during a targeted operation in Karbi Anglong. Authorities conducted the raid at Dillai Gate, resulting in the arrest of five individuals currently in police custody.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the Karbi Anglong Police for the successful interception. He reaffirmed the state government's commitment to halting narcotics trafficking, emphasizing that illegal drugs will find no safe passage through the region.

The operation aligns with the broader Assam Against Drugs campaign, which seeks to curb the flow of illicit substances across state borders. Investigators are working to determine the origin and the intended destination of the seized narcotics as the probe continues.
