Assam Police Seize Heroin Worth Rs 2.47 Crore in Sribhumi

Guwahati: Assam Police seized heroin valued at approximately Rs 2.47 crore in Sribhumi district on Monday. Authorities arrested one individual in connection with the drug operation.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared news of the successful raid on the social media platform X. He praised the local police force for their work and reaffirmed the state government's dedication to eradicating drug trafficking.

Highlighting the effectiveness of the police force, Sarma noted, "No chamber is secret enough for Assam Police." He added that the administration intends to maintain the intensity of its current campaign against narcotics.

Law enforcement officials have launched an investigation to track the origin of the contraband and identify its intended destination.
