Assam Police Recover Stolen Jewelry and Arrest Three in Boko Burglary Case

Guwahati: Assam police have resolved a burglary case involving the theft of gold and silver jewelry from a private residence in Malibari Pathar. The operation was led by Sub-Inspector Jyotirmoy Das, the in-charge of the Mandira Outpost, acting on a case registered at the Boko Police Station.

The incident occurred on the night of May 4, 2026, at the home of Gajibar Rahman. Investigators first apprehended the primary suspect, Sanidul Islam, a resident of Mahtoli. During questioning, Islam admitted to selling the stolen goods to shop owners at Jorshimuli Bazar.

Acting on this information, police arrested two local jewelers, Nilchan Ali and Fazar Ali. Authorities recovered several items from the men, including four grams of melted gold, gold bangles, silver anklets, a bracelet, and a silver chain. The items were formally seized as evidence for the ongoing case, which is being processed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
