Assam Police Arrest Drug Dealer in South Salmara-Mankachar Raid

Guwahati: Authorities in Assam have arrested an alleged drug dealer during a targeted anti-narcotics operation in the South Salmara-Mankachar district. Police took Soleman Sheikh into custody at his home in Kacharipara village following a successful raid.

Officers recovered 2.746 kilograms of cannabis and 400 Yaba tablets during the search of the premises. These substances are strictly regulated under narcotics and psychotropic legislation.

Police are currently questioning Sheikh to identify the source of the drugs and uncover potential links to a larger trafficking network. Officials have registered a formal case as they continue their efforts to dismantle illegal drug operations within the region.
