Guwahati: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu toured the Bordoibam wetland on November 5. He brought along the local Circle Officer and area residents. The goal is simple. He wants to set boundaries for a proposed bird sanctuary without ruining local farms.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma ordered the review. Pegu shared his progress in a post on X, stating, "the objective was to protect the wetland while safeguarding the agricultural land of local farmers." The minister told the Circle Officer to listen to the people living there. They must now draft a plan that keeps both the ecosystem and the farmers alive.
