Guwahati: Assam Irrigation Minister Pijush Hazarika conducted a site inspection of critical irrigation initiatives in the Kamrup district on June 20. The minister visited the Singua Flow Irrigation Scheme Cluster and examined a solar-powered mobile lift irrigation project located in the Boko-Chaygaon area.

During the visit, Hazarika met with engineers, technical experts, and project consultants to discuss implementation strategies. The Singua cluster is part of a broader government effort to modernize water management and increase irrigation coverage for regional farmers. The mobile lift irrigation initiative uses floating solar pumps to provide water access in remote or flood-prone locations.

The minister spoke with local residents and farmers to better understand their specific agricultural needs and irrigation challenges. Emphasizing the necessity of high-quality work, Hazarika directed department officials to finish the construction within the planned schedule. He stated, "complete the projects within the stipulated timeframe so that farmers can benefit at the earliest."

MLA Raju Sahu joined senior department officials and local representatives during the tour. The state government remains focused on deploying sustainable irrigation solutions to strengthen the agricultural sector across Assam.
