Assam Government Reshuffles Executive Membership of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council

Guwahati: The government of Assam has officially appointed six new individuals to serve as Executive Members of the 13th North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council in Haflong. This administrative change was formalized through a notification released by the Hill Areas Department on May 18, acting under the authority granted by the Assam Autonomous Districts Rules of 1951.

The newly appointed members to the council are Lalremsiama Darnei, Projith Hojai, Noah Daime, Ngulminlal Lienthang, Manjoy Langthasa, and Ratan Jarambusa. These appointments were executed under the directive of the Governor of Assam and took effect immediately upon the issuance of the order.

Concurrent with these appointments, the state government announced that two previous Executive Members, Devojit Bathari and Biswajit Daolagupu, have been removed from their positions. Their service in these executive capacities has ceased effective immediately as part of the council restructuring process.
