Guwahati: Assam security forces stopped three Bangladeshi nationals from crossing into India on August 29. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the arrests after alert patrols spotted the group trying to breach the border. The state continues to reinforce its surveillance efforts to block illegal entries. "Last night, 3 such individuals were identified and prevented from entering India by our alert forces," Sarma said on X.
Police also hit the illegal cattle trade hard in two separate busts. Goalpara officers recovered 12 animals and cuffed three suspects near the inter-state border. Meanwhile, Dhubri Police intercepted a larger haul of 42 cattle and grabbed two vehicles used to haul the stock. Sarma backed the aggressive police tactics and promised to keep the pressure on traffickers.
