Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma honored over 900 police personnel on Wednesday, October 21. He laid a wreath to mark Police Commemoration Day. The officers died in the line of duty since Independence. Sarma credited these sacrifices for the state's current security gains. Militancy is near zero. Crime rates have dropped sharply.

"On behalf of the people of Assam, I laid a wreath in honour of the 900+ Assam Police personnel who have made the supreme sacrifice for Aai Asomi since Independence," Sarma posted online. He vowed to protect this hard-won peace at any cost. He saluted the force for their continued commitment to law and order.

Sarma also used the day to deliver a Vijayadashami message. He linked the festival to the triumph of Sanatan culture over evil. He claimed that internal forces plotting against India have been silenced. "You all are seeing how, with the arrival of Vijay Dashami, the demonic forces that were plotting conspiracies against the country have fallen silent," he stated. He told the media that the day represents Shakti's victory over darkness. He expects this tradition of good overcoming evil to continue throughout the region.
