Guwahati: The Assam government granted Chief Secretary Ravi Kota a six-month extension. He stays on the job until April 30, 2027. This move keeps the state’s top bureaucrat in his seat for another half-year.

Kota belongs to the 1993 batch of the Indian Administrative Service. He first stepped into the role on April 1, 2024. Since then, he has directed the state’s primary administrative and policy affairs. His continued leadership ensures stability for the Assam government through next spring.
